Our special boy Lucky – who came to ARCH when he was just two days old – has gone to his new home. Although we had a lot of interest in Lucky, our horse carer and head of homing, Elly Brooks, was determined to find him the ideal situation where he could continue to grow and thrive with the handling he was used to. Lucky has gone to a home with other horses, plenty of space, and experienced, knowledgeable adopters who will bring him on slowly with “gentle handling and encouragement through the natural horsemanship ethos”.
Sad as we all are to see him go (particularly Elly who cared for him at her finca for many months) it is heart-warming to know we have finally found him the right home.
Lucky himself – as we expected – took the change in his stride. He is such a well-balanced and laid-back young man. At just over a year old he went into the box like an old hand after an initial inspection, and at the other end he settled in happily.
Lucky by name, and lucky to have found an ideal home. His new owners feel they too are lucky to have adopted such a special boy!
