Dear old Fabiola has returned to the Centre after a lengthy stay with our wonderful vets, Rocio and Andres, following her latest operation to give her a permanent tracheotomy, which will enable her to breathe more easily. A big thank you to all the professionals involved in her surgery and aftercare – we are fortunate to have such dedicated vets to call on.
Fabiola appears happy to be back. She is greeting all our volunteers and enjoying the attention and cuddles. We were doubtful she would survive on her arrival at the beginning of March. But very often the oldies have an amazing will to live and she certainly deserves to spend her remaining years in comfort after all she has suffered. The permanent tracheotomy, while looking rather fearsome, actually needs much less care than the temporary one and gives her no problems. And it certainly doesn’t affect her appetite!
