The elderly mare, rescued from under a bridge in Chiclana, is doing well. She is thriving on the food and attention she is receiving. Our vets have been assessing her as she appeared to have a problem with undigested feed coming out of her nostrils as green slime. An endoscopy revealed that muscles in her throat were spongy and inactive, possibly through an allergy, eating poisonous plants or a hereditary condition. Thankfully her lungs are clear, and she is slowly gaining weight. Her hooves were in a very bad state, but Steffi has now given her a good trim. She is a gentle and sweet-natured mare and has already won the heart of ARCH President Jill!
