Back in 2018 Candela was rented out for €350 for the annual pilgrimage of the Candelaria by her owner. When Seprona caught up with him he had numerous animals all in various stages of starvation and birds of protected species in cages. She was starving and her hooves were in terrible condition. Candela only had one shoe. When she was returned to the owner after the pilgrimage she had numerous injuries and had clearly been ridden almost to death. She arrived at ARCH severely dehydrated. She was fostered by a local riding school for several years before she returned to ARCH in November 2022.
Suitable for light riding, ideal for children. No jumping.
