We are now confident that the four rescues from Extremadura who arrived at ARCH in the middle of December are out of immediate danger – the first few weeks are always an uncertain time for animals in such poor condition.  Two have recovered so well that we have placed them in local foster homes with a view to adoption.  “Tierra”, the gelding (above) has been renamed “El Güero” (The Blonde One) and is living with another ARCH foster. Cascada, the largest grey mare, has gone to a previous ARCH adopter.  Both will continue to be monitored by ARCH until their paperwork is regularised for formal adoption.  The other two grey mares, Tormenta and Fuego still need to gain condition, and they will also be up for adoption soon – hopefully we will have some good photographs of the pair when the rain has gone and the mud baths have stopped!
