ARCH TO THE RESCUE
On Friday 11th March a massive confiscation by SEPRONA (animal welfare police) resulted in a large number of horses arriving at the ARCH Rescue Centre. Eight equines, in various stages of malnourishment and neglect, with signs of mistreatment and several injuries are now in safety.
An emergency assessment from our veterinarian underlined the fact that nearly all of these will need lengthy and ongoing treatment in rehabilitation.
Just as prices of transport hay and hard feed are going through the roof, we are facing another financial challenge. We anticipate around €2.000 in
bills for the first crucial week alone , with more funds needed for long-term treatments, documentation and legal fees (we always prosecute).
