It is ARCH policy always to prosecute abusive owners and legal fees are another of our expenses. Recently our vet Rocio has been to Court to give evidence in two pending cases, both dating back to 2024.
In May 2024 a very sad pony called Guerrero (our name for him) arrived at ARCH in a shockingly emaciated state, totally dehydrated and extremely weak. He was put on a drip but his body was too far gone to recover and he died the following day.
In September of the same year we received a sweet little pony with an eye injury which had been badly neglected. Little Tango had to go to our vet’s surgery to have the eye removed. Happily he made a great recovery and is now living with other ponies in a five-star home.
The judge in the preliminary hearings considered the cases should now go to trial based on the evidence. These are just two of the many cases we are involved in.
