Recently we had to say goodbye to dear old Borrego. The hardest part of being an ARCH volunteer. This aged mule came to us in February, a victim of appalling neglect and abuse. He was skin and bone with an old injury which had healed badly and left him chronically lame. We have cared for him for the past few months and he has enjoyed good food, proper attention and a lot of love, but sadly we could no longer do more to alleviate his pain. Our lovely vet Rocio told us it was time for him to leave and she helped him do so in dignity and love. Another casualty of animal cruelty, fortunately in this case it has not been left unpunished! ARCH will always pursue the perpetrators through the Courts with the aid of our Animal Rights lawyer.
