Grey Mare
Born 2005

Curra was one of a group of 12 horses, mainly pregnant mares, in an advanced state of starvation, confiscated in Cartama. There was a stallion running with the herd. Heavily pregnant when she arrived, Curra gave birth to a small colt just after the ARCH Spring Festival.

After a shaky start, Curra took a turn for the worse with a very severe gas colic. We decided to send both mother and baby to the equine hospital in Cordoba to give them a chance of survival. The emergency surgery was successful and, after spending some time recovering at our vet, they have both now returned to the centre and are doing well.
